    • My most essential teaching tool is remembering to humanize the learning process.
    • The one thing I always forget to bring to my 8 a.m. class is myself because I’m definitely not teaching an 8 a.m. class unless I have to :-).
    • I know it’s the middle of the semester when I see my students start using some of my colloquialisms.

I’m teaching only online right now, but I’ll answer as well as I can:

    • My most essential teaching tool is careful planning, combined with flexibility when the unexpected happens (weather events, emergencies, technical outages, and so on).
    • The one thing I always forget to bring to my 8 a.m. class is my _______. I haven’t taught an 8 a.m. class in years, but when I did . . . ah. Hm. Basics like a pen, usually.
    • I know it’s the middle of the semester when I see my students asking for due date extentions.

    • My most essential teaching tool is my authenticity!
    • The one thing I always forget to bring to my 8 a.m. class is wakefulness.
    • I know it’s the middle of the semester when I see my students showing up to class in crocs every day.
