I’m thankful that this semester is almost over! 😉 Just kidding (kind of!)

Seriously though, it’s those “aha” moments with students that have kept me teaching all these years, although there have not been as many within the cohorts we’ve had the last few years. Specifically, I’m grateful that some of my students are finally understanding the purpose of the discussion forum assignment in my physiology course this semester. Some have taken the time to learn concepts with a depth of understanding that allows them to explain them to and help their classmates. This also helps me to understand how they are thinking about things and where I can contribute to guide them more effectively. Even a few doing this – being proactive in their education and willing to ‘learn how to learn’ keeps me in the game. – R

I’m grateful for the memorable online class sessions I’ve had this semester. This is the first time I’ve had a synchronous graduate class in a few years, and some days, things really clicked for my students and me. I left the class sessions energized and proud of what my students accomplished, and my students were active, interested, and thoughtful.

These kinds of sessions don’t happen every week, but I’m so grateful when they happen!
