I’m not much of a cook, so I’m sharing a simple steamed green beans recipe.
Ingredients:
-
1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
-
2 tbsp olive oil or butter
-
Salt and pepper to taste
-
Place the green beans in a steamer basket over a pot of boiling water. Cover and steam for about 5-7 minutes, until they are tender but still crisp.
-
Transfer the steamed green beans to a serving bowl. Drizzle with olive oil or toss with melted butter. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Family Requested Easy Green Beans
1/2-1 lb. of fresh green beans (cleaned and cut in bite size lengths)
4-6 pieces of bacon
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. of apple cider vinegar
Cook bacon until crisp. Save 1 TBS of the grease and discard the rest. Crumble bacon and place in a bowl to the side. In bacon grease sauté the green beans until done. Add the sugar and apple cider vinegar. Stir. Add back the bacon crumbles and serve.
You can add or subtract as much sugar or vinegar as you like and according to how many green beans you have.

I had never considered using apple cider vinegar – I might have to try this!

Let me know what you think. A little vinegar goes a long way so taste test and add more if needed.
