Coins Fail: Incorrectly connected my OER (“Mastering”) to the course. Students could not access their e-text on the first day.
Victory: After the students informed me of the issue, we had a pretty robust discussion of human and technological imperfections. I’m pretty sure that the message “I’m not a superhero, I’m just like you. We will continue to learn from each other”, came through. After contacting Pearson that day and with their assistance, I was able to recognize the issue and solved it. The students were very supportive.

In my effort to implement one of the best practices of obtaining class photos so that I can associate the face and the name, I printed out black and white photos because my office has no color printer. This made me squint to identify the faces as they were blurred, and spoilt my day. I was not as confident in calling students by name. However, during the second day I requested help from the office and I was given the color photos.
