Nearpod? I will have to check that out. Our audience is definitely a different generation, where they will collaborate/communicate more on digital platforms than in person. However, the basic need is still there – relationship. It is just done differently! We, as educators, have to adapt. 😍

In the past, I made it a priority to provide detailed, thoughtful feedback on my students’ writing. It’s my way of showing them I genuinely value the effort they put in and that their work isn’t just skimmed but truly read and appreciated. The response has always been incredibly positive—students feel seen, supported, and motivated to grow. Plus, it opens up opportunities for richer conversations about their writing and helps build stronger connections.

Hi – I often ask my students for feedback on what I can do better or implement to help them learn. This semester 2 of my freshmen said they thought that learning physiology would be fun and easier if we did Kahoot! quizzes in class pre- and/or post-lecture. I participated in a Kahoot! quiz once but had no idea how to set one up so I just supplied those students with questions for out next lecture in neurophysiology and they set it all up and ran it in class. It was fun and even got some students who I have difficulty engaging during class discussions involved. The 2 students who initiated it earned bonus points and the top 3 scorers on each quiz did also (although they didn’t know they would when we started). So I plan on taking a workshop for Kahoot! so I can learn to set it up myself and use this as a tool to engage students and help them learn material. – R
