Reflect on how your identities and implicit biases may impact your interactions

Studies have demonstrated that the expectations we have of others are often predictive of their performance (Deady, 2020Jensen, n.d.). Since our identities inform our perceptions of others, including our students and colleagues, it is important to acknowledge that we all embody different identities based on our background. As we are all committed to creating an inclusive campus environment, it is helpful to reflect on our identities and how these identities may impact our interactions with others.
