To help students feel comfortable and valued in the classroom, I strive to create an open, creative, and non-judgmental environment where every voice is recognized and supported. I want to encourage students to see the teaching environment as a partnership. I remind all students that we have different lived experiences, and that each student brings a unique set of life experiences that enrich our discussions and deepen our knowledge and empathy, allowing us to challenge our viewpoints as we continue to develop our understanding and evaluative thinking, and think critically, thoughtfully,with kindness toward others, synthesizing new ideas.
