ACUE Commons membership for a couple of years now has been one of the best things I’ve done. The quick studies have kept me current on virtual pedagogy, but more importantly to me is the platform it has provided for me in maintaining/increasing community with my colleagues, the sharing of ideas and experiences—invaluable. It enhances the experience of earning ACUE’s TOC. I like to select and then pilot the the many aspects of online instruction, its best practices, to the different course sections as I get to know my students and their needs, keeping it fluent and inclusive. For example, I make more use of the scaffolding technique, I tweak my welcome message/video regularly to make it accessible and inclusive, etc., etc. ACUE and ACUE Commons, in my opinion, invite instructor participation. The discussion topics have included the right blend of professional and personal. Thanks for the growth opportunities you have provided.
