    Great discussion topics, Kelly!

I continue to mention the need to stay updated with the the immense variety of GenAI software that appears every semester. Ideally, we want to consider them when we are designing course content before the first class session. I think we approach each academic semester differently, mainly because students do. There are subtle differences. For example, I find most students get really focused on Spring Break around this time and put academics on the back burner., so to speak. Some students are graduating in May, and take that graduation for granted. They have to be reminded they need to successfully finish the spring semester first! I regularly bring this issue up during our spring sessions.

This semester, I’ve designed and incorporated a variety of rubric, realizing that if well constructed they can really assist in understanding the components and expectations of a graded/non-graded assignment and engage students to complete these. ChatGPT has made the job easier and the rubric more effective. I learned a lot from ACUE Commons regarding rubrics.

I have to give Commons a big kudos for the amazing resources presented during our mini-courses. We’re half-way through spring, let’s do it (while planning summer)!
