For me, a successful class session happens when students ask deep, thoughtful questions or engage in a discussion where they start to question art and its meaning. When they interact with one another and connect with the artwork on a personal or intellectual level, I know real learning is taking place. It’s especially rewarding to see students challenge perspectives, make connections, and leave the session seeing art in a new light. Those moments are the “secret ingredient” that remind me why I love teaching art!
