Derek Bruff, PhD

Bruff is the director of the Vanderbilt University Center for Teaching, overseeing programs for faculty and graduate students. As a senior lecturer in the Department of Mathematics, he fosters effective teaching practices and consults on pedagogical issues. Bruff’s research focuses on educational technology, visual thinking, and social pedagogies, reflected in his book “Teaching with Classroom Response Systems.” Bruff holds a PhD in Mathematics from Vanderbilt University and has previously taught at Harvard University.
