Hi – I make this easy and delicious Warm & Creamy Bacon Dip every holiday season and other times of the year too as an appetizer to a special meal):

    • 1 – 16 oz container of light sour cream
    • 1 – 3 oz jar/packet of soft real (turkey) bacon bits
    • 2 cups shredded reduced fat cheddar cheese
    • 1 – 8oz package of light cream cheese
    • 1 cup chopped green onions

Pre-heat oven to 400 F. Combine all ingredients in a large bowl; mix well. Place in 1 quart baking dish and bake, uncovered for 30 minutes. Serve hot with crackers and fresh raw veggies – we like reduced fat Triscuit and Wheat Thins, wedges of yellow squash and orange/yellow bell peppers as well as celery sticks and baby carrots.

I’ve used colby-jack and other shredded cheddar cheese mixes also – anything you have in your frig/freezer (thaw first) will be good. And, of course, you can leave out the green onions or use the full fatted versions of the ingredients, but even my husband, who is suspicious of anything low fat/reduced calorie, loves this the “skinny” way I make it. – Rose
