Rationale

Visual tools that help students gain deeper understanding of complex topics, issues, processes or problems include charts, graphic organizers, tables, flowcharts, Venn diagrams, timelines and T-charts. All of these help students more easily learn new material and allow them to be more able to retrieve what they have learned because they receive it in an organized structure (Nilson & Goodson, 2 017, p. 81).
